PROTEIN – Not just for guys
with big muscles
Last month we touched
on protein with the use of energy source
4:1 for use in long distance events in particular,
this month I want to highlight the important
use of protein now that most of you are
going from your recovery or to your strength
building phases of your training.
Firstly
you will recover so much better with products
like high5 protein recovery drink powder
because as mentioned by Tim from high5 uk
comments below, your muscles need to repair
so that
you can rebuild them stronger. The other
factor is many of you this time of year
put on weight, you eat bad foods through
being hungry from eating so much after getting
used to eating those quantities during your
hard summer training. My recommendation
to you is try to concentrate on more protein
like the mentioned product because it fills
you up and stops you eating rubbish which
ends up taking months to take off and makes
life hard !!
I
personally take protein powder with my breakfast and have at least 3
more drinks or bars throughout the day instead of fat things like bread
or bad food like nibbles that do the damage not to mention the Easter
eggs !! All in all it's helping your body growing your muscle that you
need and reducing the chances of you putting on weight at this time of
year. I totally recommend this and you can't go wrong with the
chocolate flavour or new banana vanilla which both are yum! Be sure to
check out our special offer below to try this product at a reduced cost.
Below here's a reminder what Tim wrote
Ever wondered why some guys get good fast and others work their buts off and don't. Here is a clue…
"You don't make any fitness gains during exercise, all gains are made in the recovery period”
Now without the good roughing up you give your body during exercise no adaptation would occur, but all the gains in fitness you get are actually made in recovery.
OK so recovery is important, but where does protein come into all of this, and hay, I eat fish and chicken right?
Yep and that's good, a well balanced diet is what you need but a little extra can pay off big time, here's how.
- During
exercise muscle's tissue is damaged and starts to break down, this also
continues for several hours after exercise stops.
- About 1 hour after exercise stops new muscle synthesis starts- its suppressed during exercise
Now
lean muscle is what is going to make you faster and better at your
sport. Lean muscle is good and you want it, yeah, but how do you get it?
Easy,
you reduce muscle breakdown and you boost muscle synthesis. But having
the correct amino acids in the blood stream at the right time is not
easy to achieve and the timing is vital, this is why you can't just pop
a chicken sandwich.
Also
the correct amino acid and carbohydrate mix enhances glycogen
replacement and recovery even further. It's a cleaver combination of
amino acid profile, absorption speed, intake timing, amount and
composition.
I
know your time is precious, with work and training, so we have made it
simple for you. There are two products from High5 that have been
specifically designed to optimise all of these and so maximise recovery.
4:1 For use before and during exercise.
Protein Recovery For use immediately after exercise
If
you want to see the difference enhancing recover can make trust us and
give them a try, it's a real eye opener. And if you don't notice the
difference I will give you your money back.
