The F.A.S.T. training squad has scheduled swims, rides and runs every day of the week. Sessions range from high intensity to recovery efforts. Members range from novices to elites. Consistency is the key to reaching your potential as well as the camraderie of highly-motivated training partners.
Here's a general overview of the weekly schedule:
Monday - a swim and sometimes a short run
Tuesday - the group meets at 5:45am inside the York Road gate at Centennial Park for a high intensity cycling session in the park
Wednesday - long runs for most people in the group depending on the season and each person's race objectives
Thursday - a recovery cycling session that begins at 5:45am inside the York Road gates
Friday - it varies from season to season and also each person's pending races - the session may start with an open water swim at Bondi followed by a run or a track session at McKay Oval in Centennial Park followed by a swim
On the weekend, both days begin with cycling efforts. The Saturday session begins at 6am at the York Road gates and the Sunday session begins at 6:15am. Depending on one's race schedule, usually one day is a easy 100km ride and the other is a longer ride with effort, followed by a run.
